Privacy, plainly
What this site stores, what it never does, and how to raise a correction. One page, no legal fog.
What is stored
Page counts. Anonymous visit counting, kept on this site's own server. No tracking cookies, no third-party analytics, no advertising networks. A one-way hash that rotates daily is used so repeat visits can be counted without identifying anyone.
Preferences. Your theme choice and a "subscribed" flag are kept in your own browser's local storage, not on the server.
Votes. Votes are tied to an anonymous, one-way hash; no account is needed to take part and no personal details are stored with them.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored to send the occasional site update. That is the only use.
Accounts and reviews. If you create an account or leave a review, the site stores what you submit: a display name, the review text, and an email used for verification. Emails are never shown publicly, and reviews marked anonymous do not display a name.
What never happens
No selling or sharing of personal data. No cross-site tracking. No advertising. No profiles built beyond the anonymous counts described above.
Questions and corrections
Use the "Report an error" button found on the comparison pages. Notes that come with a primary source get fixed fastest, and corrections are welcome on any fact on the site.
